Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 child with Autism, assisting with their learning and social development.
- Implement strategies and activities to support the child’s communication, social interaction, and engagement in the classroom.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive environment that promotes the child’s well-being and academic progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with people with additional needs, preferably in a school setting.
- Hold relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting children with special educational needs.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team, and communicate clearly with staff, parents, and carers.
- Have a proactive attitude and be adaptable to the changing needs of the child and classroom environment.
