We are currently seeking a compassionate and committed 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Central Reading. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a significant impact on the educational experience of children with special needs.

Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to a student with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to a tailored learning experience. Your role will involve close collaboration with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to support the child's educational, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher with adapting lessons and activities to meet the student’s needs.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to their development and review.
  • Support the student in developing social skills and positive behaviour.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other staff members about the student's progress and any concerns.
  • Assist with the student's personal care needs, if required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
