Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support to the Year 5 class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons that inspire young minds.
- Offer one-on-one and small group support to students, including those with special educational needs, helping to boost their confidence and academic progress.
- Play a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere, encouraging good behaviour and a strong sense of belonging for all pupils.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of teaching materials and resources to ensure smooth delivery of the curriculum.
- Support the teacher in tracking and assessing student progress, contributing to individualised learning plans to help each child reach their full potential.
- A genuine love for working with children and a strong commitment to their learning, well-being, and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents alike.
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of Year 5 students, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage classroom activities efficiently and support the teacher in ensuring a productive learning environment.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, though not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check is required to work with children.
- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within an educational setting, is highly desirable.
- Additional qualifications or training in education, special educational needs, or child development would be an asset.
Pay: £86 per day.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
