One of Slough’s top secondary schools is searching for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our diverse and supportive team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Individualized Support: Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse needs, adapting resources to help each learner achieve their best.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons, helping with setup, managing materials, and maintaining a productive learning environment.
  • Behaviour and Emotional Guidance: Build positive relationships, support positive behaviour, and foster a safe and encouraging environment for all students.
  • Progress Tracking: Work with teachers to assess and track student progress, providing insights on both academic and personal development.
  • Inclusive Environment: Ensure all students feel included, respected, and capable, encouraging their growth and independence.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: Prior experience as an LSA or in a similar role is essential, ideally within a secondary school setting. Experience working with SEN students or students with additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: No formal teaching qualifications required, though NVQs, CACHE, or HLTA certifications are a plus. A genuine commitment to supporting young people is essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Adaptability and the ability to stay organized in a busy school environment are also key.
