We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team in Reading. The school is based in Central Reading and has been awarded 'Good' by OFSTED. They are a 3 form-entry and have a highly supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing personalised support to enhance their learning experience and overall development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN in a classroom setting.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the child’s specific needs.
  • Support the child in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s education.
  • Monitor and report on the child’s progress, offering feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the child’s evolving needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are an advantage.
