We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a primary school in Slough. This role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the child's educational experience. The role will start in September and continue throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a child with SEMH needs in a Year 1 classroom.
- Implement strategies to manage and improve the child's behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Assist the child with academic tasks, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCO.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
