Looking for your next role in education?

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a primary school in Slough. This role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the child's educational experience. The role will start in September and continue throughout the academic year. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to a child with SEMH needs in a Year 1 classroom.
  • Implement strategies to manage and improve the child's behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Assist the child with academic tasks, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCO.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
