We are seeking a dedicated and friendly 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a local primary school in High Wycombe for an immediate start. (Late February 2024). The successful candidate will work on a one-to-one basis to provide valuable support for students with special educational needs (SEN).
The school is a reputable, community focused school based in the Central/West area of High Wycombe, and is easy to commute to from the suburbs and the surrounding area. They have a very experienced school management team who stive to cultivate a supportive and welcoming environment for all staff! This job role will turn into a permanent role for the right person, or can remain as a temporary role if the right applicant is looking for flexibility.
 
We are looking for someone who:
  • Is confident in their ability to work with children and has some relevant experience working with children and/or adults with special additional needs.
  • Is able to facilitate an inclusive learning environment that support student learning and well-being.
  • Has well developed communication skills with the ability to form effective relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Is adaptable and can stay calm in challenging situations.
  • Has a commitment to inclusivity and equality within education.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with children, providing support that is tailored to their needs and follows individualized lesson plans.
  • Collaborate with class teacher and or SENDCO to find ways of promoting academic, social and emotional development of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to class teachers, SENDCO and parents
  • Utilise technology and other resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
