1:1 Teaching Assistant

A well-established SEN school in Maidenhead is looking for a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The school supports pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), with a strong focus on building confidence, independence, and life skills alongside academic progress.
In this role, you’ll be supporting pupils in a structured classroom environment, working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You’ll help break down learning, provide additional support with core subjects, and encourage pupils to engage and achieve at their own pace.
Responsibilities

• Support pupils with MLD on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist the class teacher with delivering differentiated lessons
• Help pupils develop key literacy, numeracy, and life skills
• Provide encouragement and support to build confidence and independence
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, ideally MLD
• A patient, supportive, and encouraging approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
