About the Role

Supply Hive are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our pool of SEN supply staff supporting specialist school settings across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. We’re looking for someone who is patient, resilient, caring and genuinely motivated to support young people to achieve their best. You’ll be comfortable working as part of a team but also confident using your initiative when needed. A car driver is preferred due to travel between sites.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs. You’ll be supporting pupils to access learning, build independence, and develop both academically and personally in a structured, supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Supporting teaching staff with day-to-day classroom learning and activities
  • Working with pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Adapting learning to meet individual needs and abilities
  • Supporting communication, literacy, numeracy and life skills
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping maintain a calm, consistent environment
  • Building strong relationships with pupils and acting as a positive role model
  • Supporting social, emotional and personal development
  • Contributing to pupil progress tracking and assessment where required
  • Working closely with teachers, families and external professionals
  • Supporting safeguarding, health & safety and behaviour policies at all times
What we’re looking for:
  • Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience highly desirable)
  • Confident supporting pupils with additional needs and/or challenging behaviour
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach with clear boundaries
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting children’s welfare
Requirements:
  • Valid, enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Safeguarding training
  • SEN experience

If you’re looking for flexible SEN supply work where every day is different and genuinely rewarding, we’d love to hear from you.
