About the Role
A welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Reading is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Speech & Language needs, and complex learning difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nurturing environment where staff work closely together to provide tailored support and help every child reach their full potential.
In this role, you’ll be supporting pupils either on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, helping to deliver engaging and adapted learning activities. You’ll work alongside teachers and therapists to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation, making a real difference to pupils’ day-to-day school experience.

- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored learning activities
- Help manage behaviour in line with the school’s approach
- Support pupils with communication and social interaction
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or transferable experience)
- A patient, proactive, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
