About the Role

Looking for a fresh start in education this January?
Supply Hive is working with a specialist school in Maidenhead to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for a January 2027 start.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs. You'll be joining a specialist setting where pupils benefit from individualised support, structured routines and a team committed to helping every learner reach their potential.
Pupils may have autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, learning disabilities or social, emotional and mental health needs. We're looking for patient, nurturing and adaptable individuals who can recognise that every pupil learns differently and tailor their approach accordingly.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers and other support staff to help pupils access learning, develop independence and build confidence.
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Supporting pupils with autism, communication difficulties and sensory processing needs.
  • Helping pupils manage transitions, routines and changes throughout the school day.
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and positive relationships.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Breaking learning activities into manageable steps to help pupils engage and make progress.
  • Encouraging independence with classroom activities and everyday tasks.
  • Creating a safe, supportive environment where pupils feel comfortable, understood and ready to learn.
What We're Looking ForWe're keen to hear from candidates who:
  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school, care or support setting.
  • Are patient, calm and able to adapt to different needs and situations.
  • Understand the importance of consistency, routine and positive relationships.
  • Can follow individual support plans and work collaboratively with teaching staff.
  • Are reliable, enthusiastic and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential.
Experience in a specialist setting is beneficial, but a caring attitude, willingness to learn and genuine passion for supporting young people are equally important.

At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority. All candidates undergo enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding measures to ensure the well-being of students. We offer full assistance to make sure everything is in place before you start.

If you carry out a long-term Class Teacher role with Supply Hive, you will be paid to your MPS.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Ready to Make a Difference?
If you’re excited to support the next generation of learners and make a real impact in the classroom, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today.
