Sports Coach Mentor

We’re supporting a brilliant SEMH school in Slough that is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role is based around supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage with learning and build positive relationships.

This is a setting where consistency, trust and boundaries are key — the staff team are incredibly supportive and work together to create a safe, structured environment for all learners.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom
• Building positive, trusting relationships with students
• Supporting behaviour using de-escalation strategies
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and access learning
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

Requirements

• Experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Confident, calm and resilient personality
• Ability to build strong relationships quickly
• Team-focused with a consistent approach to behaviour support
• DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
