This role would be ideal for someone with experience in sports coaching, youth mentoring, or behaviour support. You’ll be working with pupils who have complex SEMH needs and often struggle with emotional regulation and engagement. The setting would benefit from a confident, active, and nurturing role model who can bring positive energy and consistency to the team.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, building trust and maintaining boundaries
- Using sport and movement to help regulate behaviour and promote engagement
- Working closely with the teacher and wider team to support behaviour strategies
- Helping pupils develop emotional literacy, communication and social skills
- Contributing to a calm and consistent classroom environment
- Strong experience supporting children with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour
- A background in sports coaching, mentoring or youth work is highly desirable
- Clear spoken and written English (essential due to pupils’ speech and language needs)
- Ability to remain calm, patient and consistent in a high-need environment
- DBS and safeguarding training.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
