We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and dedicated team at a specialist school for students aged 11–18 with Moderate Learning Difficulties.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working creatively and wants to make a real difference in young people's lives. The school takes a nurturing, personalised approach to learning—focusing on wellbeing, confidence-building, and developing independence skills that prepare students for life beyond school.
What the role involves:
- Supporting students across a range of classroom subjects
- Helping to create a calm, engaging learning environment
- Providing tailored support to students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver individualised learning
- Encouraging confidence, communication, and independence in each student
- A calm, caring, and patient individual with a positive attitude
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people
- Previous experience supporting individuals with SEN (desirable but not essential)
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a support role (advantageous)
- Someone eager to learn, develop their skills, and become part of a close-knit team
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Right to work in the UK
- A strong understanding of safeguarding practices (or willingness to complete training)
- Two references covering the last two years
- Commitment to supporting the wellbeing and safety of all pupils
