Teaching Assistant Opportunity | Reading | Full-Time
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Reading is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team this September. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to someone who is passionate about supporting young children’s academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being.
 
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support both individual pupils and small groups. You will play a vital role in ensuring that children remain engaged in their learning, make good progress, and develop confidence in their abilities. This position offers the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners and to become a valued member of a supportive school community.
     Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils in Key Stage 1, helping them to stay focused and achieve their potential.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to design and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Adapt and prepare resources to meet a range of learning needs and styles.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging participation, confidence, and a love of learning.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teaching staff to support effective lesson planning.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  •  Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational support role is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the development of young children.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and a proactive attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid DBS certificate on the Update Service, or the willingness to obtain one.
  • The legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
