1:1 Teaching Assistant (PMLD)

We’re looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

This is a really rewarding role where you’ll work closely with pupils to support their learning, communication, independence and day-to-day wellbeing.

You’ll be part of a supportive team and will work alongside teachers, therapists and other specialist staff to help pupils get the most out of their time at school.

The role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with their learning and communication
• Helping pupils develop independence and life skills
• Supporting personal care where required
• Assisting with mobility and physical needs
• Creating a calm, safe and engaging environment
• Working closely with teachers and the wider specialist team

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

• Caring, patient and compassionate
• Reliable and committed
• Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team
• Interested in supporting children with complex needs
• Experienced in SEN, care, healthcare or education — although this isn't essential

You don’t need to have worked in a PMLD setting before. What matters most is that you’re genuinely passionate about supporting children and are willing to learn.

If you carry out a long-term Class Teacher role with Supply Hive, you will be paid to your MPS.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
