HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant)

We’re excited to be partnering with a warm and welcoming school in Slough who are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team as soon as possible.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll have the opportunity to step into the classroom and deliver engaging, pre-planned lessons whenever teachers are unavailable or not timetabled to teach.

Responsibilities:

🟣Deliver pre-planned lessons in the teacher’s absence, ensuring learning continues smoothly.
 🟣Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment in line with school expectations.
🟣Support learning across various subjects and age groups, providing feedback on pupil progress.
🟣Work alongside the SENCo to implement tailored strategies and interventions for SEND pupils.
🟣Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support, adapting to individual needs.
🟣Prepare and modify resources with guidance from teaching staff.
🟣Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies and contribute to whole-school initiatives and training
 
Requirements:
 
☑️HLTA qualification or comparable training/experience.
☑️Proven experience in supporting classroom learning, including leading small groups or covering lessons.
☑️Confident communication skills and the ability to manage behaviour positively and consistently.
☑️Experience delivering targeted interventions or leading full class sessions.
☑️Right to work in the UK
☑️DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one
