Learning Support Assistant

Supply Hive is supporting a friendly and supportive primary school in Maidenhead who is looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant starting this January to join their staffing team.

In this role, you will play a key part in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where the child is supported to thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

🟢 Deliver focused 1:1 support to a child with additional needs, using a variety of approaches to promote communication, engagement, and interaction.
🟢 Follow and contribute to personalised learning and behaviour plans, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
🟢 Promote independence, confidence, and positive social skills through structured activities and consistent encouragement.
🟢 Support emotional well-being and sensory regulation to help maintain a calm and productive classroom environment.
🟢 Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support.
🟢 Monitor progress and record observations, sharing feedback with staff and parents to support next steps in learning.

Requirements:

✅ Experience working with children with additional needs is preferred.
✅ A patient, empathetic, and approachable nature with strong communication skills.
✅ A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to individual needs.
✅ A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
✅ The legal right to work in the UK.
