About the Role

We’re working with a specialist post-16 setting supporting young people with SEMH needs and are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with older students and wants to support young people as they develop the confidence, skills and independence they need for life beyond school.

The role is about more than classroom support. You’ll help students engage with education, manage challenges, build positive relationships and prepare for their next steps — whether that's further education, employment or independent living.

The role:
  • Supporting students in lessons and practical activities
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping students manage their emotions and behaviour
  • Building positive, respectful relationships
  • Supporting independence and life skills
  • Encouraging students to engage with learning and vocational opportunities
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
  • Confident and patient when working with teenagers and young adults
  • Calm and consistent
  • Good at building relationships
  • Resilient and able to handle challenging situations
  • Experienced in SEMH, SEN, youth work, care, mentoring or education
You don't need to have worked in a post-16 setting before — we're more interested in your experience, attitude and ability to connect with young people.

At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority. All candidates undergo enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding measures to ensure the well-being of students. We offer full assistance to make sure everything is in place before you start.

If you carry out a long-term Class Teacher role with Supply Hive, you will be paid to your MPS.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Ready to Make a Difference?
If you’re excited to support the next generation of learners and make a real impact in the classroom, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today.
