About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Reading. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting a range of special educational needs within the classroom environment.

Pay rates quoted include 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs
- A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A passion for supporting children’s development
The role includes:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Supporting pupils with learning, emotional, and social development
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Implementing EHCP targets and personalised support plans
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Supporting pupils with communication and independence skills
- Monitoring progress and reporting back to teachers and SENCOs
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Assisting with personal care where required
