SEN TA

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Reading. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting a range of special educational needs within the classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant
• Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs
• A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A passion for supporting children’s development

The role includes:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Supporting pupils with learning, emotional, and social development
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Implementing EHCP targets and personalised support plans
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Supporting pupils with communication and independence skills
• Monitoring progress and reporting back to teachers and SENCOs
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Assisting with personal care where required

Pay rates quoted include 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
If you carry out a long-term Class Teacher role with Supply Hive, you will be paid to your MPS.
