About the Role

Are you a Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Mentor or someone with experience supporting children and young people who would like to make a real difference?

We’re working with a specialist SEMH school looking for a caring and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The pupils have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, so this role is about much more than supporting with learning. You’ll be helping pupils build confidence, manage emotions, develop positive relationships and engage with education.
You’ll need to be patient, consistent and able to build strong relationships with young people who may have had a difficult experience of education.

The role:
  • Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping pupils regulate and manage challenging situations
  • Building positive, trusting relationships
  • Supporting learning and encouraging engagement
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience in SEN, SEMH, youth work, care or pastoral support is ideal
  • A calm and consistent approach
  • The ability to build genuine relationships
  • Patience, resilience and a good sense of humour!
You don’t necessarily need previous SEMH school experience — the right attitude and approach are just as important.

At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority. All candidates undergo enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding measures to ensure the well-being of students. We offer full assistance to make sure everything is in place before you start.

If you carry out a long-term Class Teacher role with Supply Hive, you will be paid to your MPS.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Ready to Make a Difference?
If you’re excited to support the next generation of learners and make a real impact in the classroom, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today.
