We are delighted to be working with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Reading, seeking a dedicated Reception Class Teaching Assistant for a maternity cover role starting as soon as possible. This school is committed to continuous professional development (CPD) and creating a supportive environment for both pupils and staff.

In this role, you will be providing crucial support within a Reception classroom, assisting the class teacher with daily routines, small group work, and individual learning tasks. You will help to create a warm, stimulating, and inclusive environment that encourages young learners to thrive and develop both academically and socially.

Responsibilities
✨ Supporting the Reception class teacher with classroom activities and learning tasks
✨ Providing one-to-one and small group support
✨ Assisting in the preparation of learning materials and classroom displays
✨ Helping to promote a positive and nurturing classroom environment
✨ Supporting children’s social, emotional, and academic development
✨ Maintaining accurate pupil records and assisting with assessments

Requirements
✅ Previous experience working in Early Years or Key Stage 1 settings
✅ A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach
✅ Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff
✅ Excellent communication skills with children, staff, and parents
✅ Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent)
✅ A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
