Love working with children who are just beginning their school journey?
A friendly, high-achieving primary school in Wokingham is looking for a committed and nurturing KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This role is ideal for someone who finds joy in helping young learners grow in confidence – especially as they tackle phonics, early writing, and those all-important number bonds.
The school has been praised by Ofsted for its inclusive ethos and strong leadership, and you’ll be joining a welcoming team where Teaching Assistants are valued as a vital part of classroom life.
If you’re looking for a role where you can build genuine relationships with children, support engaging learning, and be part of a warm, supportive school community – this could be the perfect fit.
What You’ll Be Doing:
🔵 Supporting a lively and curious class of 5–7-year-olds with their day-to-day learning
🔵 Working closely with the class teacher to deliver phonics, early reading, and numeracy support
🔵 Helping individual children who may need extra encouragement or additional help staying focused
🔵 Bringing creativity into the classroom by helping with displays, activities, and classroom resources
🔵 Playing a key role in helping pupils feel settled, safe, and enthusiastic about coming to school
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Experience working with young children in a school or early years setting
✅ A kind, calm, and positive attitude – even on the busy days!
✅ An understanding of the KS1 curriculum (especially phonics and early maths)
✅ A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or similar) is a bonus, but not essential
✅ An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
At Supply Hive, safeguarding children is at the heart of what we do. We carry out enhanced DBS checks and provide full support with compliance, so you’re ready and confident before you start.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
✔ A small, welcoming school with a real community feel
✔ Pupils who are eager to learn and love a good story or game
✔ A supportive staff team who work closely together and share a good laugh when needed
✔ Long-term opportunity, with the potential to stay on permanently
Sound Like the Right Fit?
We’d love to help you take the next step. Apply today and we’ll be in touch to talk more about the school and the role.
