We’re working with a warm, welcoming special school in Slough that supports pupils aged 4–19 with a range of additional needs, including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and complex needs. The school offers a structured and nurturing environment with high levels of therapeutic input, and they’re looking for a passionate Class Teacher to join their team either now or from September.
This is a full-time, long-term role within a highly specialist setting. You’ll have the support of experienced teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders who all work together to help pupils reach their full potential – whether that’s gaining key communication skills, accessing learning through a tailored curriculum, or preparing for life beyond school. Many pupils have EHCPs and benefit from consistent routines, sensory regulation strategies, and personalised learning pathways.
Responsibilities include:
🧠 Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to a wide range of abilities
🗣 Supporting pupils’ communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
🤝 Working closely with TAs, therapists, and families to meet individual needs
📈 Monitoring progress and adapting strategies to help pupils thrive
🧩 Creating a calm, structured learning environment with consistent routines
Requirements:
🎓 QTS (or equivalent) – primary or secondary trained
💛 Experience teaching pupils with additional needs (e.g. ASC, MLD, SLD, PMLD)
👂 A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching
🧾 Right to work in the UK & enhanced DBS on the update service (or happy to apply)
At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority. All staff undergo enhanced DBS checks and reference vetting. Pay rates quoted include 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
If you carry out a long-term Class Teacher role with Supply Hive, you will be paid to your MPS.
