The role
As an SEN TA, you’ll be working closely with pupils to provide learning and pastoral support. Some children may need help with communication, sensory activities, or physical support, while others may need encouragement to develop independence and confidence in the classroom. You’ll also be supporting the class teacher and working alongside other professionals such as therapists to ensure pupils get the best possible care and education.
Day to day, you could be:
- Supporting children 1:1 or in small groups to access lessons and activities.
- Using creative and engaging approaches to support learning and communication.
- Encouraging social interaction, independence, and confidence in daily routines.
- Assisting with personal care or physical support where needed.
- Celebrating every achievement, big or small, with your pupils.
We’re looking for someone who is caring, resilient, and adaptable. You don’t need years of school-based experience — if you’ve supported children or young people with additional needs in any setting (or even personally), your skills are valuable. What matters most is your enthusiasm, positivity, and willingness to learn.
If you’re ready to take on a rewarding role where you’ll have the chance to truly change lives, we’d love to hear from you.
