If you’re a qualified teacher who’s ready for something a bit different – more balance, more variety, and less burnout – we’d love to hear from you.
At Supply Hive, we work with a brilliant network of schools across Reading who are always on the lookout for reliable, passionate Supply Teachers. Whether you’re an experienced educator or an ECT just starting out, supply teaching is a great way to explore different classrooms, pick up valuable experience, and work on your own terms.
🧑🏫 What does the role involve? As a Supply Teacher, you’ll step into classrooms where the regular teacher is away – delivering pre-planned lessons, keeping routines ticking along, and making sure students stay on track. No late nights planning, no marking marathons. Just good, focused teaching.
- Teach a range of year groups (EYFS to KS2, depending on your preference)
- Keep things running smoothly and manage classroom behaviour
- Be a friendly, professional face that schools can rely on
- Follow school policies and provide feedback to staff
- Help keep children safe – safeguarding is always top priority
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- UK classroom experience
- A positive, adaptable attitude (every day can look a little different!)
- Good classroom and behaviour management
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or happy to apply for one)
- You choose when and where you work – full flexibility
- Great for parents, ECTs, or anyone looking to avoid burnout
- Opportunity to experience different school environments
- Long-term and permanent roles often available if you want them
- We’ll pay you fairly – including your MPS for long-term placements
