A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Reading is looking for a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This full-time role offers the chance to support pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2, particularly those with special educational needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support that enables every child to thrive. This role is perfect for someone passionate about helping young learners build confidence and reach their full potential within a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities
✏️ Support the delivery of classroom activities and interventions
🧩 Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with additional needs
👂 Encourage and motivate pupils to engage in their learning
📋 Assist with classroom preparation and resource management
🧠 Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Requirements
🎓 Experience working with children (school or childcare setting)
💬 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
💡 A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
📘 Understanding of SEN is highly desirable
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
