A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Reading is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and wants to play an active role in their learning and development. You’ll be supporting pupils across the classroom, working closely with teachers, and helping to create a calm, positive and engaging learning environment.
Whether it’s offering a quiet word of encouragement, helping a small group stay focused, or preparing fun resources – your support will help children feel confident, cared for, and ready to succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing:
🔵 Assisting the class teacher in delivering interactive, engaging lessons
🔵 Supporting individual pupils and small groups, particularly in core subjects like reading, writing and maths
🔵 Helping pupils with additional needs feel settled and included
🔵 Preparing classroom materials and maintaining tidy, welcoming learning spaces
🔵 Monitoring pupil progress and wellbeing, and feeding back to teachers
🔵 Supporting classroom routines and encouraging positive behaviour
🔵 Building strong relationships with staff, pupils and families
What We’re Looking For:
🔵 Experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting
🔵 A calm, kind and proactive approach – someone who’s ready to jump in and help wherever needed
🔵 Good communication skills and a strong sense of teamwork
🔵 Enthusiasm for supporting children's growth, both academically and emotionally
🔵 A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is a plus – but not essential
🔵 Availability to work full-time during term time
