A forward-thinking and supportive primary school in Reading is seeking a committed Year 5 Class Teacher to join their team from September on a full-time basis. This is a long-term position with planning responsibilities, meaning you’ll play an active role in shaping the curriculum and delivery of lessons. You’ll take full ownership of the Year 5 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the curriculum. With support from experienced phase leaders and access to excellent resources, this is a brilliant opportunity for a teacher who thrives on meaningful planning, creativity in the classroom, and making a lasting impact on pupils’ progress. In line with responsibilities, you will be paid to your Main Pay Scale (MPS).

Responsibilities 🧑‍🏫
  • Take full responsibility for the planning, delivery, and assessment of Year 5 lessons
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with year group and phase leaders
  • Monitor pupil progress and differentiate learning to meet individual needs
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil development
Requirements 📘
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5 or Upper Key Stage 2
  • Strong planning, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • A creative, proactive, and reflective teaching approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
