About the Role
Supply Hive is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Slough area. This is a full-time role supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs across primary and secondary ages. The position is available for an immediate or near-future start, depending on suitability.

You will be working closely with pupils with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs, helping them to access learning in a way that is tailored to their individual needs. The role will focus on supporting learning, promoting independence, and helping pupils develop key communication, social and emotional regulation skills.

Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs
- Support the class teacher in delivering personalised learning activities linked to EHCP targets
- Assist pupils with communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation throughout the school day
- Implement behaviour and support strategies consistently
- Encourage independence, confidence and life skills development
- Support pupils during transitions, break times and off-site activities where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider school staff
- Contribute to pupil progress monitoring through observations and feedback
- Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school or care background considered)
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to follow structured support plans and adapt to individual needs
- A proactive and team-focused attitude
- Understanding of autism, learning difficulties or SEMH needs is highly desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners
