About the Role
This is a really rewarding opportunity to lead a brand-new “Introduction to Community Care” course and support young people in building confidence, life skills and a sense of purpose.
You’ll be working with learners aged 15–25, many of whom have SEND or SEMH needs, helping them explore pathways into areas like health & social care, early years, youth work and community-based roles.
This role is ideal for someone from a people-focused background — whether that’s care, early years, support work or youth work — who wants to move into a more structured education role while still making a real difference.

What you’ll be doing
- Planning and delivering engaging sessions across an Entry Level–Level 1 Community Care curriculum
- Covering key areas such as:
- person-centred support
- safeguarding & care principles
- equality, diversity and inclusion
- understanding roles within care and community settings
- Supporting learners to develop confidence, communication and life skills
- Embedding Maths & English naturally into sessions
- Creating a calm, inclusive environment that supports learners with additional needs
- Using a trauma-informed, relational approach to behaviour and engagement
- Monitoring progress, attendance and individual outcomes
- Working closely with LSAs, pastoral staff and other tutors
- Supporting learners with next steps, including work experience and career exploration
- Building positive relationships with families and external professionals where needed
- Experience in a people-focused role, such as:
- health & social care
- early years
- youth work
- support work
- A genuine passion for helping young people grow in confidence
- Experience teaching, mentoring or supporting others (or a strong willingness to learn)
- A calm, patient and encouraging approach
- An interest in supporting learners with SEND / SEMH
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft 365)
