Community Care Tutor

Supply Hive are working alongside a specialist education setting in Aylesbury who are looking for a Community Care Tutor to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help develop and deliver a brand-new Introduction to Community Care pathway for young people aged 15–25. The role would suit someone with experience in community care, health and social care, early years, youth work, support work or another people-focused setting who is passionate about helping young people build confidence and develop practical skills.
Many of the learners have SEND and/or SEMH needs, so the ability to build trusting relationships and create a calm, supportive learning environment is essential.
The role will involve:

• Planning and delivering engaging Entry 3/Level 1 Community Care sessions
• Covering topics including safeguarding, person-centred support, equality and care principles
• Supporting learners to develop confidence, communication and life skills
• Embedding Maths and English into learning where appropriate
• Adapting teaching to meet a range of SEND and SEMH needs
• Using trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches
• Supporting learners to explore future careers in care, health, early years and community-based roles
• Working alongside LSAs, tutors and wider support staff
• Maintaining accurate records of progress, attendance and EHCP outcomes

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience or knowledge of community care, health and social care, early years, youth work or supporting vulnerable people
• Experience of teaching, training, coaching or mentoring, or a strong interest in developing these skills
• A warm, patient and encouraging approach
• An understanding of SEND, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice, or a willingness to learn
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Basic IT skills
• A Level 3 Award in Education & Training would be desirable, but is not essential
• A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
