About the Role
Supply Hive are working alongside an alternative education provider supporting young people aged 16–25 who need a different route into learning and employment. They work with around 300 learners across Berks and Bucks, many of whom are referred from SEN settings, PRUs and mainstream schools. Their programmes include Construction Multiskills, Creative Art & Design, Sport, Boost Workskills and Achieve Lifeskills, all delivered alongside functional skills in Maths and English using a trauma-informed, relational approach that puts confidence, consistency and personal growth at the heart of everything we do.
We’re looking for a Construction SEN Teaching Assistant to support learners during practical construction sessions. Many of our young people thrive in hands-on, “learning by doing” environments where they can see the results of their efforts. You’ll support Tutors in activities such as carpentry, tiling, decorating, basic plumbing, and other DIY projects, helping learners stay engaged, motivated and confident. If you have a background in construction, DIY projects, or a passion for practical building tasks, you’ll be able to inspire learners and show them how to tackle projects safely and creatively. Patience, empathy and adaptability are essential, as many learners have SEN or SEMH needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety or attachment challenges.
Key Responsibilities
All applicants will require the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Supply Hive is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
