Construction Learning Support

Supply Hive are working alongside a specialist education setting who are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support young people on their Construction pathway.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with an interest in construction, practical trades or hands-on learning who also enjoys supporting young people to build confidence and develop new skills.
You will work alongside tutors to support learners during practical construction sessions, helping them stay engaged, follow routines, work safely and take pride in what they are achieving.
The role will involve:

• Supporting learners during practical construction sessions.
• Working with learners on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Encouraging safe working practices and site awareness.
• Helping learners stay focused and complete tasks.
• Building positive relationships and supporting learner confidence.
• Responding calmly and consistently to behaviour challenges.
• Supporting tutors with preparation and materials.
• Helping learners develop teamwork and communication skills.
• Supporting the development of Maths and English through practical learning.
• Tracking learner progress and engagement.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience working with young people.
• An interest in construction or practical trades.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Level 2 Maths and English.
• A willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification.

You do not necessarily need previous experience working in education. We are keen to hear from people with practical skills and a genuine interest in helping young people develop confidence and independence.
