About the Role
Supply Hive are working with a welcoming and supportive school in High Wycombe that is looking for a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join their team.
This role would suit someone who is patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced challenges with behaviour, emotional regulation, trauma or engagement in education.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll play an important role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and able to access their learning. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide consistency, encouragement and positive behaviour support.

- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Helping pupils manage their emotions and regulate their behaviour
- Building positive and trusting relationships
- Supporting pupils to engage with learning
- Providing reassurance and encouragement during challenging moments
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Be calm, patient and emotionally resilient
- Have a consistent and nurturing approach
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour
- Understand the importance of boundaries and positive relationships
- Be passionate about helping young people make progress
