About the Role
We’re working with a supportive SEN school in Slough who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping young people learn, grow in confidence, and achieve their personal best in school.
The role:
As an SEN TA, you’ll be supporting students with a range of moderate learning needs. Many of the pupils may find certain areas of learning more challenging, so your role will be to break tasks down, give encouragement, and celebrate progress – no matter how big or small.

As an SEN TA, you’ll be supporting students with a range of moderate learning needs. Many of the pupils may find certain areas of learning more challenging, so your role will be to break tasks down, give encouragement, and celebrate progress – no matter how big or small.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and communication
- Help students build confidence, independence and social skills
- Adapt learning materials to suit different abilities and learning styles
- Encourage pupils to stay engaged, focused and motivated in class
- Support with classroom routines and ensure a positive, inclusive environment
- Some experience supporting children or young people (in schools, care, youth work or similar)
- Patient, positive and resilient, with a genuine interest in SEN
- Able to build strong relationships with both students and staff
- A good communicator who can encourage and support children in their learning
- Understanding of MLD is helpful, but training and guidance will be provided
- Be part of a warm, welcoming SEN school that puts the students first
- Receive ongoing training and support to develop your skills in SEN
- Long-term opportunities for progression within education and SEN
