We are currently working with a friendly and vibrant school in Maidenhead who are looking for a proactive and SEN experiencedHigher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team in September.
This rewarding role involves delivering pre-planned lessons during times when teachers are not timetabled to teach or are absent. In addition, the HLTA will support pupils with SEN helping them engage with the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
🔵Deliver pre-planned lessons in the teacher’s absence, ensuring learning continues smoothly.
🔵Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment in line with school expectations.
🔵Support learning across various subjects and age groups, providing feedback on pupil progress.
🔵Work alongside the SENCo to implement tailored strategies and interventions for SEND pupils.
🔵Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support, adapting to individual needs.
🔵Prepare and modify resources with guidance from teaching staff.
🔵Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies and contribute to whole-school initiatives and training
Requirements:
✅HLTA qualification or comparable training/experience.
✅Proven experience in supporting classroom learning, including leading small groups or covering lessons.
✅Awareness of SEN and effective support strategies for a range of learning needs.
✅Confident communication skills and the ability to manage behaviour positively and consistently.
✅Experience delivering targeted interventions or leading full class sessions.
✅Familiarity with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and the SEN Code of Practice.
✅Right to work in the UK
✅DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one
