This position involves providing dedicated support to a child with complex needs. You will have an important part to play in fostering a calm, structured, and nurturing setting, ensuring the pupil is able to flourish both academically and in their social and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

🟢 Provide targeted, individualised support to pupils within the Specialist Resource Provision, using a range of strategies to promote communication, engagement, and learning.
🟢 Support the delivery of personalised learning programmes and behaviour plans, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
🟢 Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction through structured routines and tailored activities.
🟢 Support emotional well being and sensory regulation, helping pupils to remain calm, focused, and ready to learn.
🟢 Work collaboratively with specialist staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent and high-quality support.
🟢 Monitor progress and record observations, contributing to reviews and sharing feedback to help inform next steps in learning.

Requirements:

✅ Experience working with children with SEN is essential.
✅ A patient, empathetic, and approachable nature with strong communication skills.
✅ A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to individual needs.
✅ A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
