About the Role
Supply Hive is working with a fantastic post-16 specialist provision in Reading that supports young people aged 16–25 who haven’t thrived in mainstream education. Many learners have EHCPs, SEMH needs and additional learning needs, and benefit from a hands-on, practical approach to education.
They’re now looking for a Construction Tutor who can deliver engaging, real-world learning and help young people build confidence, skills and positive next steps.

At Supply Hive, safeguarding is central to everything we do. All successful applicants will be required to complete enhanced DBS checks and follow strict safeguarding procedures. Pay rates are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

👷 About the role
- Deliver practical construction sessions (multi-skills such as carpentry, decorating, tiling, basic plumbing etc.)
- Work with small groups and 1:1 learners in a supportive, calm environment
- Support learners with employability skills, teamwork and confidence
- Use a trauma-informed, patient approach to behaviour and engagement
- Track progress and contribute to personalised learning plans
- Work closely with a supportive staff team and wider professionals
- Background or strong experience in construction or a related trade
- Passionate about supporting young people who need a different approach to learning
- Calm, resilient and confident managing behaviour positively
- Able to build strong relationships and set clear expectations
- Teaching/tutoring qualification is ideal but not essential – training can be supported
- Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult workforce)
- Small class sizes and strong staff support
