About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher to join a supportive primary special school. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with small classes, really get to know your pupils, and make a tangible difference in their lives. You’ll help children grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing and structured environment, while being part of a friendly, supportive team.
In this role, you’ll deliver lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You’ll work closely with teaching assistants, families, and external professionals to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive. The school offers a welcoming environment, small class sizes, and the chance for long-term impact—perfect for someone looking to build strong relationships and see real progress in their pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH challenges
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting approaches as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance for pupils
  • Communicate effectively with families and external agencies to support learning and wellbeing
Requirements
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH or similar additional needs
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Passionate, patient, and engaging approach with children
  • Commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and ongoing professional development

This is a rewarding role in a school that values creativity, enthusiasm, and making learning accessible for every child. With small class sizes, a supportive team, and the opportunity to shape long-term outcomes, it’s an ideal role for teachers wanting to make a real difference.
