About the Role

Not every young person thrives in a traditional classroom, but give them a hands-on environment, and everything can change.

Supply Hive are working alongside a specialist alternative provision supporting learners aged 15–25 with SEND and SEMH needs. They offer a vocational, person-centred approach where students can build confidence, develop practical skills, and start thinking about their future pathways.

This role sits within a growing Hair & Beauty provision, supporting learners working towards Entry Level and Level 1 qualifications. You’ll be delivering practical, engaging sessions while helping young people develop independence, life skills, and self-belief.
Whether you’re an experienced tutor or coming from a strong industry background and looking to move into education, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact. Full support and training can be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Hair & Beauty sessions tailored to individual learner needs
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group sessions focused on practical skills, wellbeing, and independence
  • Support learners working towards vocational qualifications with guidance and feedback
  • Embed Maths, English, and employability skills into practical learning
  • Adapt sessions to support learners with SEND, SEMH, and EHCPs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships using a calm, trauma-informed approach
  • Create a supportive environment that builds confidence and engagement
  • Support learners progressing through different stages of their learning journey
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, engagement, and outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on planning and resources
Requirements
  • Hair & Beauty qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)
  • Experience supporting or mentoring young people (ideally SEND/SEMH)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport
  • A patient, empathetic and learner-centred approach
  • Confidence planning and delivering engaging practical sessions
  • Flexibility to adapt to different learners and needs
  • Good organisation and record-keeping skills
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using systems
  • GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel between sites required)
  • Willingness to complete a Level 3 Education & Training qualification if not already held

At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority. All applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and thorough vetting procedures in line with our safeguarding policies.
If you carry out a long-term role with Supply Hive, you’ll benefit from consistent support and fair pay, including 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
