About the Role
We’re seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class at a welcoming primary school in High Wycombe. This is a morning-only role (9.00am-1.30pm).
You’ll be a key support in the classroom, helping children settle into routines, build strong foundations in phonics, early reading, and number skills, and grow in confidence as learners. We’re looking for someone positive and proactive who enjoys working closely with young children through 1:1 and small-group activities and understands early years and KS1 learning approaches.
Key responsibilities:
🔵 Support individual pupils or small groups within the Reception setting during morning sessions.
🔵 Work alongside the class teacher to support engaging, play-based and practical learning activities.
🔵 Prepare and adapt resources to suit a range of learning styles and needs.
🔵 Encourage positive behaviour and create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
🔵 Observe children’s progress and share relevant feedback with the teaching team.
Requirements:
✅ Experience working with young children in a school or nursery setting.
✅Brings a positive, calm and nurturing approach.
✅ A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
✅ Right to work in the UK.
