About the Role

Supply Hive are working with a specialist SEN school in High Wycombe who are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Pupils with PMLD have complex needs, which may include severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, medical needs and sensory impairments. Many pupils are non-verbal and require highly personalised, hands-on support throughout the school day.
Role responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Providing personal care including toileting, feeding and changing where required
  • Supporting physical needs, mobility, positioning and use of specialist equipment
  • Assisting pupils who are non-verbal, using communication methods such as eye gaze, switches, objects of reference and visual cues
  • Supporting sensory-based learning activities involving sound, light, touch, movement and texture
  • Helping pupils access learning in short, meaningful sessions tailored to their individual needs
  • Monitoring pupils’ wellbeing and responding calmly to medical or sensory needs
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists (SALT, OT, Physio) and support staff
  • Creating a safe, calm and consistent environment where pupils feel secure and supported
  • Celebrating small steps and progress, understanding that progress looks different for every child
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has experience supporting PMLD, SLD or complex needs (school, care or health settings)
  • Is patient, nurturing and emotionally resilient
  • Is confident providing hands-on support and personal care
  • Brings a calm, positive and flexible approach to the classroom
  • Has the right to work in the UK
Why work with Supply Hive?
  • SEN daily rates of £96-110.70 per day
  • Paid fairly — no umbrella companies
  • Long-term roles paid to scale where appropriate
  • Support from consultants who genuinely understand SEN
  • Opportunities across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire
At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority. All applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding procedures. Applicants must have the appropriate qualifications, training and right to work in the UK. Pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
