SEN Teaching Assistant

Supply Hive are supporting a well-established special school in High Wycombe that caters for children and young people aged 3–19 with a wide range of complex needs. The school offers a nurturing, child-centred environment and is structured across specialist departments, allowing staff to work closely with pupils whose needs range from severe and profound learning difficulties to speech, language, communication needs and complex autism.

The school places a strong focus on communication, individualised support, and creating a safe, happy environment where both pupils and staff feel supported and valued.

Responsibilities 

• Supporting pupils with complex SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Assisting with communication, sensory regulation, and personal care where required
• Supporting learning activities tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
• Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver consistent support
• Helping to create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment

Requirements 

• Experience working with children or young people with complex needs (school, care, or similar setting)
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Willingness to support a range of needs, including personal care
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work as part of a wider team
• Right to Work in the UK
