About the Role

Supply Hive are working with a specialist setting in Reading that supports young people who benefit from a practical, active and relationship-led approach to learning. They’re looking for a Sports Coach Mentor who can use sport and physical activity as a tool to build confidence, resilience and positive behaviour.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in sports coaching, youth work, mentoring or behaviour support, who enjoys working with young people who may have SEMH, SEN or additional behavioural needs.

The Role
You’ll be using sport and structured physical activity to engage pupils, promote emotional regulation and support personal development. Alongside this, you’ll act as a positive role model, building strong, consistent relationships with the young people you work with.

Responsibilities 🏃‍♂️⚽
  • Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions
  • Support pupils with behaviour regulation, confidence and teamwork
  • Act as a mentor and trusted adult throughout the school day
  • Encourage positive routines, boundaries and emotional resilience
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom setting
Requirements ✅
  • Experience working with children or young people (schools, sports clubs, youth work, mentoring, SEN or SEMH)
  • A background in sports coaching, fitness, PE or similar (qualifications are a bonus but not essential)
  • Calm, resilient and confident approach to behaviour support
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting young people
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
