About the Role
Supply Hive is working with a primary school in High Wycombe that is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their welcoming KS1 team in the new term after Easter.
This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting children’s development, enjoys making a positive impact, and has previous experience working with young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
🔵 Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, using effective strategies to encourage communication, engagement, and positive interaction.
🔵 Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning and behaviour support plans.
🔵 Help build the child’s independence, confidence, and social skills through structured activities and consistent encouragement.
🔵 Support the child’s sensory and emotional needs to promote a calm and productive learning environment.
🔵 Liaise closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure continuity and high-quality support.
🔵 Monitor, record, and share the child’s progress with staff and families to inform future targets and provision.
Requirements:
✔️ Previous experience supporting children in a childcare or care role.
✔️ A genuine commitment to helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
✔️ Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy.
✔️ A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
✔️ A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
✔️ Right to work in the UK.
