About the Role

A specialist SEMH setting in Slough is looking to appoint an experienced and resilient SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time role starting in September, working with primary-aged pupils who require a nurturing, structured and highly supportive environment to succeed.

You will be leading a small nurture group and outreach provision, supporting pupils both within the school and in local mainstream settings. This is a varied role that requires flexibility, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The school has a strong trauma-informed and restorative approach, with a real focus on helping pupils build confidence, regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Lead a small nurture group, creating a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Support outreach work with local mainstream schools
  • Work closely with support staff, families and external professionals
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Track progress and adapt provision to meet individual needs
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with SEN, particularly SEMH
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their potential
This is a really rewarding opportunity to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, where staff wellbeing and development are genuinely prioritised. The school offers:
  • Competitive salary (London Fringe) + SEN allowance
  • Potential TLR for the right candidate
  • Excellent CPD and career progression opportunities
  • Weekly PPA time with no pupils on site
  • Access to wellbeing support and reflective supervision
  • Flexible working options considered
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference and be part of a close-knit, values-driven team, this could be a great fit.
