About the Role
Supply Hive are working with a welcoming and well-established Special School who support pupils aged 3–19 with a wide range of additional needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom. You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support, helping students access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence in a safe and caring setting. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
✨ Support pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, SLCN and complex learning difficulties
✨ Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
✨ Promote communication and social development through tailored strategies
✨ Provide 1:1 or small group support where needed
✨ Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
✅ Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
✅ A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✅ A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
✅ Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
