About the Role

Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) | Reading | Full-Time / Part-Time

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Reading from September.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate SEND professional who is committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.

The Role
  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
  • Identify, assess, and monitor pupils with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Coordinate and review EHCPs, SEND Support Plans, and interventions
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Monitor pupil progress and evaluate the effectiveness of support strategies
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to colleagues on SEND best practice
  • Champion inclusion and promote positive outcomes for all learners
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete the qualification
  • Previous SENCO experience or substantial SEND leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory requirements
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
  • A child-centred approach with a passion for inclusive education
